Prof. Dr. jur. Dr. phil. Julien Michel Friedman, born in Paris in 1956, is a German-French lawyer, philosopher, publicist, author and host.
From 1998 to 2003, he hosted the political talk show Vorsicht! Friedman on Hessischer Rundfunk and the ARD program Friedman from 2001.
Since 2004 he has been a host for the political program Studio Friedman and the reportage series "Friedman schaut hin", and since April 2021 with the talk show "Open End" on WeltN24.

Michel Friedman has also appeared on television in the programs "Auf ein Wort ... mit Michel Friedman" and "Der Tag" at Deutsche Welle. For SWR, Michel Friedman moderates the Democracy Forum at Hambach Castle. At the Berliner Ensemble, he has regularly received guests for the format "Friedman im Gespräch" since 2017.

Since September 2020, Michel Friedman has been a moderator of the new event series "Denken ohne Geländer" at the Jewish Museum Frankfurt am Main. He can also be heard regularly on the "Zukunft Denken" podcast of the Jewish weekly magazine tachles.

Michel Friedman is an honorary professor at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and was Executive Director of the Center for Applied European Studies (CAES). Since September 2022, Michel Friedman has been a member of the Board of Trustees of "Places of German Democratic History" and the Jewish Museum Berlin.
